What is it about me?
Well, there’s a lot, but here are some of the highlights. I am passionate about self-expression: finding the truest, most honest version of yourself and embracing it. I find that being loud and proud about what I believe in will convince not only other people but myself, that the work I do has a place in this wild industry. There is no room for subtlety in a field that’s great screams from the rooftops of their fashion houses. I have always loved creating, and the world of clothes has helped me express my words without even having to use any.
I am currently studying Fashion Design and Fashion Marketing and Management at the Savannah College of Art and Design. I became interested in fashion in my junior year of High School, after taking a summer fashion design program at Syracuse University. I spent the end of my junior year of High School into my senior year designing and conceptualizing a collection of dresses and spent the entirety of my senior year creating these looks. Since starting at SCAD I have had the opportunity to further enhance my skills, focusing on crafting techniques while also exploring my creative style. Along with creativity, I have also explored the insides of the business, writing full business reports, creating mock company start-up plans, collaborating with peers on a collection pitch with full pricing sheets, tech packs, and customer profiles, and creating mock campaigns.
In the summer of 2023, I had the opportunity to work with Loro Piana as their Store Operations Intern along with Interning in-store at their Meatpacking location in New York. I was able to learn all about the daily functions of a team of workers, the different supplies and orders that must be organized behind the scenes, along with real-time experience working in their store. I had an amazing experience working with them and learning about the inner workings of a luxury retail business like Loro Piana.
